fotomom > 02/09/10 - Ripples
Through a car windshiled while it was raining, 20' from a bldg. window with a miniblind, miniblind not closed all the way and room lit up behind it with 'stuff'. I adjusted the contrast and saturated and increased shadows and the nifty colors appeared. Whoulda thunk. If not for itself then for a background frame for some other photo. I have an interest in producing my own backgrounds and frames.
fotomom > 02/08/10 - Late Night Shopping
I was taking window shots for the Dgrin challenge. I did submit this window which was also featured n a prior gallery post, but it was a 'spooky' version vs. this real life version. John, please note the patron headed to their car that's just a dark shadow in motion. I was going for color detail from inside on this one, and the 88cents sign certainly does that.
fotomom > 01/26/10 - Air Bubble
This shot includes an air bubble coming up from the marble filled bottom of the vase rising toward the sun. I like the mettallic feel the air bubble took on and the reflection in it. I needed a wider vase and more bubbles!
fotomom > 01/26/10 - Honey Sun
Shot through a flat-sided vase filled with honey directly at the sun and got this which I thought was pretty neat.
fotomom > 01/25/10 - Candles in the Distance
Actually, it's one line of 5 candles kindof in an S curve and then what you see here is one of the real candles and intentionally out of focus many reflections of the candles in the mirror. I applied the CoffeeShop green tea action on it and did a couple of other things to get this result. I was playing withe candles and parallel mirrors again:-) I would like it better if I had better definition in the flame.
fotomom > 1/22/10 - A wider view of the mirror, night light, and star effect. The one thing I don't like here is the lower right where the black cloth covered up part of the mirror. I was unsuccessful at cloning it back which I did try to do. I tried to figure out how I could have gotten stars on the mirror without actually seeing the night light. That would be cool. I'd like to have gotten a smidge more definition to the stars on the actualy light itself too. Those problems aside, I still like the mirror and the stars shining onto it.

Setup shot is here:

fotomom > 1/22/10 - This was a POTD wanna be that just didn't make it. It hasn't shown up in my photography much of recent, but I really like celstial prints, faces, etc. This is a mirror with a moon face on one side. Then, the stars are coming from a gold globe style night light that my boys have int their bedroom. I have a blackboard facing into the mirros boucing in this shot one of the stars onto the mirror. Looks better bigger. I ran an Orton filter just to see what it would do because there was some dust on the mirror I wanted to get rid of. I really liked the smoothing of the shot and tinting of the more gold toned mirror orange. I did 3 different takes trying to get some good shots with this set-up going back to the computer, seeing how things were looking, and trying again. I'm not sure I ever got what I absolutely had in mind.
fotomom > 01/19/10 - Candles and Reflections
I thought having Joey's hand in the picture added something off of just the simple candle and reflection. Black posterboard behind the candle.
fotomom > 01/10/10 - A Distant Galaxy
Really, it's the water at Lake Wheeler Park. Yesterday nearly every shot that included the water had these neat starbursts in them. I took a bunch of shots of just the starbursts themselves and really liked how this one tunred out because the one star is such much bigger and brighter than the others. The image is cropped slightly and then flipped to put the big star on top. I'm into Other Worldly type shots, so I thought this was pretty neat. If nothing else, it's a good background potential.
