08/19/09 - Mom, will you please stop taking my picture and let me have my bowl of dog food!
This is my dog Sugar. She came home with me from the SPCA as a foster dog about 10 years ago. But, she wasn't alone. She had 11 puppies. Yep, you read that right...11. They were about 4 weeks old at the time. Some looked like Australian Cattle dogs (several blue eyes in the litter), some looked like Goldens, and some looked like Chows. They were the cutest litter ever. Family and friends worked with me to socialize them. I took 100s of pics of them my favorite being a puppy in the mailbox. They were so darn cute!
At 12 weeks of age, it was time to take the pups back to the SPCA for surgery and adoption. Sugar was soon to follow. But, I felt like she was likely to have a hard time being adopted. We ended up keeping her and one of her puppies, Honey. The two are an awesome and content pair that are wonderful to have in the family.
And, yes, her name is Sugar because she is just that darn sweet!
I did go back yesterday and dull out the extra shiny lock surface for my POTD. There's a link in the comments of that pic now to the modified one. I do feel like this project is inspiring me each day to try something new, and I always learn something from it. Thank you for your continued support.
