02/10/11 - Maryann's Nebula
I took a few outside shots today and a few bird shots, but again, nothing stood out. I thought I'd give something with glass and marbles a try. Well, in this case, acrylic gem shaped pieces. I took over 100 shots with various camera settings and light intensity and gem arrangement. The LCD showed some OK sortof things but nothing I really liked, so I started moving the plate out away from the lens (plate on top of camera looking up with light looking down on plate). I thought this pattern that resulted was pretty nifty. It was dark, though. So I up'ed the fill ight 100% and up'ed the shadows 100% both on Picasa. I ran it through NoiseWare. I fixed 3 white spots and darkened it a bit in PSE and then added the lens flare.
I see a nebula. What do you see? A tie dye t-shirt? A?
The snow in our forecast has mostly gone east of us. It wasn't going to be enough to play in anyway, so just as well. We have a faint light dusting.
Thanks for your comments on the candle bokeh shot and on the other shots I linked to yesterday. The frame I used on J&J's portrait was OnOne's PhotoFrame Zoom style frame. I reworked the shot a bit more last night and sent off a few 4X6 copies to print.
