02/11/11 - Mr. Cardinal
What you see is what we got in the snow department yesterday. Just enough snow falling at dawn to dust the trees and make for some beautiful scenes and then it was gone again as fast as it came with the sun coming out by 10AM.
We were getting ready to head out the door for school when I noticed Mr. Cardinal out the kitchen window sitting there all majestic on this branch. QUICK. Grab the camera, turn it on, shoot! Of course the camera is telling me there's not enough light. Sigh... I take a deep breath and hold it and try to steady myself on the corner of the microwave so I can please, please, please get an in focus shot of him. I got off about 6 shots before he flew. This is the best. Well, it's almost in focus. Or, it's in focus but it's lacking a bit of clarity. It's a pretty scene, but don't blow it up too large today;-)
I grabbed a few other shots of snow scenes that I liked too, but after not posting the cardinal shot I took last week, I figured I'd better post this one.
RE yesterday's nebula. Thank you so much for the comments... I finished that up around midnight. I thought to myself, "The only thing missing is DS9 or the Enterprise floating in it. There are, quite seriously, spaceship models hanging from my family room ceiling including Enterprise and DS9. My husband put them together and hung them years ago. I considered trying to take a picture of one of them and then stripping it out of it's background and inserting it into the nebula, but then I would have been up to 1AM. At any point, I loved all your comments and I guess my vision included Star Trek too:-) Next time!
