02/14/11 - Love 'Em! (Madi with Johnny)
We had our Valentine's Day party yesterday. Fun! The kids decorated tiny mailboxes and exchanged Valentines. They painted cardboard heart boxes and put sequins on top. There was a 'ThumbuddyLoves You' craft where they used their thumbprints to make flower petals. And, there was a foam/bead window hanger 'Be My Valentine'. The usual play, Bingo, and sugar cookies too. The Valentine colored candy corn was a bit too popular as Bingo markers;-)
Our parties are always in the garage, and J&J and I had decorated it up Saturday night complete with a little heart tree and lots of foil dangling hearts. I set up two spots for portraits. One is what you see here with my now classic fabric piece hanging on a wall. Before the party, I got out the S5 and the external flash, and attempted to take a few shots. When I looked at the pics last night, this shot stood out from the rest to me because of Madi and Johnny's smiles and slightly unusual pose. They were cutting up and having a good time and it shows.
A collage of all the kids and crafts is here which is also in the new gallery of just party pics:
I have to say that I was off my game a bit yesterday. Second cold in 2 weeks. Johnny had it first and now Joey and I have it. There are special events at school today, and I am hoping Joey wakes up well enough to go. I am volunteering and really looking forward to it.
Thanks for the shed comments yesterday. Maybe some day I will get to talk to the owner and get permission to walk that property. For now, I pull into the end of the driveway and just take what shots I can get from within a few feet of the car. It's kind that the property owner hasn't roped off the driveway or posted no trespassing signs, so I try very hard not to cross any boundaries.
