11/16/10 - Autumn Splendor
I fussed with the shots I took of this view for quite a while last night. I wanted good detail and color. I did not want to over do the detail and color. Back and forth between monitors. Various types of HDR processing. Should I just play with the correctly exposed image? You get the idea. I feel like the HDR processing gives me a bit of ability to adjust my shots like raw gives some of the rest of you. Anyway, I hope it's OK. It was a tad cloudier than I wanted, and I think that's mostly why I had to tinker with it so long. Surely it was a beautiful scene. Maybe tomorrow when our rain has stopped I'll try to catch it, and in the sun, one more time before these delightful fall colors fall and fade away.
I had a neat encounter yesterday with a snake. I know, that's absurd to some of you;-) I was taking bird pictures through my master bathroom window. The black-capped chickadees, Carolina wrens, and tufted titmouse were all hanging out in my huge (12') camellia tree going back and forth to the birdbath. Next thing I knew, a small snake was climbing into the view of my camera! I took some pics of him from inside and then went outside to check him out in person. I ended up getting a stick and 'encouraging' him down to the ground away from the bird perches although I think for now he's too small to be a danger. Big thanks to papamugger for helping me identify the snake as a juvenile rat snake. Pictures here:
Thanks for your comments on the Little Creek shot from yesterday:-)
