11/21/10 - Innocent World
Sometimes the world doesn't seem so kind. When I saw this graffiti at Falcon Park in Fuquay yesterday, I thought it summed up my feelings pretty well. I don't know exactly what I remember from being 5, but I think it was trips with my dad and my dog Shawnee to the lumber yard (my dad was finishing our upstairs on the weekends) with braids down to my waist and not a care in the world. Other weekends it would be a visit to the used bookstore in Hamilton Square. I'd buy Bobbsey Twins while dad searched out the latest scifi book. I hope the boys can look back with such carefree memories too.
Madi was with us yesterday, and we enjoyed the bakery, a used bookstore, the park, a thrift store, and then finally the real shopping at WM. Always a good day when I get to spend it with the kids... Joey got his picture taken at school on Friday for reaching a certain level in the AR (Accelerated Reader) program. Madi continues to be at the top of the AR program in her grade. Finding the next great book to read is often in our daily plans:-)
Thank you for your comments on the dreamy horse shot from yesterday...
