04/28/11 - Boo!
I took some iris shots yesterday, but they just aren't striking me as good enough to share today, so I'm back to a tree man shot from the zoo on Saturday. At the end of the day, the boys and I had the choice of wait in a huge line for a shuttle back to our parking area or to walk about a mile on the trail that connects the two parking lots. Let me stress just how spread out the NC Zoo is. By the end of the day, if you've seen the whole thing, you've walked several miles. With some amount of convincing, we started on the trail. It's the first time we've taken that option, and at least I was not sorry we took it:-) It's a hilly woodland trail with gravel and lots of photo ops. I came around a corner and there this 'guy' was. Handheld, low light and I took about 8 to make sure at least one was sharp enough. I leaned my self up against another tree, and was thrilled when Joey knew instantly that the 'face' had caught my eye. Way to go, Joe! Obviously I have doctored it up a bit from the original to emphasize the slight spook factor and bring out the woody details. And, no, this is not a reflection of my mood in particular although it has been a tough week. It's just what caught my eye and seemed like something interesting and unique to share.
Still cleaning and cleaning and cleaning...
Thanks for the comments on the pink peony.
