04/26/10 - Watercolor Pansy
I fixed a blemish on the lower flower and then applied the PSE watercolor filter to this shot. Boy did it bring out the the detail and red tones. The original is here:
Taken Friday and PP'ed last night.
I don't usually alter my flower pictures like this, and I tried it on a few others last night, and this is the only one that really worked for me. I've been wanting to post a pansy shot on and off for a couple of months now, and today feels like the right day:-) They are biannuals here which means that we plant them in the fall, they bloom and then they winter over even under snow. In the spring, they bloom again in all their glory until the heat of later May/early June ends their cycle (or the landscaping companies pull them out to plant something else).
Thank you so much for the feedback on the columbine shot. I had not expected it to be that popular.
Boy was it gusty yesterday. My peony is blooming, and I took a few shots of it, but none turned out good enough to want to share. The rest of the day was spent grocery shopping and playing with the kids. I pulled out and printed at WM 100 of the best 'kid' pictures taken during Joey's track out, and we built a photo album using cardstock paper. I put the photos on the pages, and he used a marker to write in the location, etc. We had fun, and I think it turned out pretty well. He tracks back in today. Time, but wow will it be lonely as we both readjust.
