02/03/11 - Black Capped Chickadee
I have been in a bird picture taking mood for weeks. The birds are out in full force in my yard. The only problem is that the skies have been too cloudy to get the results I like. Anyway, I decided to try yesterday for a bit. I cleaned the kitchen sink window and situated me, my camera, and my laptop up on the kitchen counter. This is one of the shots I took. I had others that were more tack sharp yet the pose of this guy is a heart winner for me. The usual birdbath clamped to the deck rail is just to the left. I put a small plate with seed on the rail yesterday for the first time too so I could get a shot of something besides them bathing. Of course some seeds spilled out of the plate. The rail is about 6' from the window. The regular suet and bird feeders another 15'.
I adjusted the shot with the Picasa Lucky filter then made it a bit brighter and then cropped square.
A SP I took of me in the kitchen window:
Anyone else hang out in the kitchen sink for their shot yesterday? Kidding!
Thanks for your response to the 'warm' candle shot from yesterday. It was a bit orange wasn't it :-) Guess that's what you get when you use very orange candles on top of a typical golden candle glow.
