04/23/11 - The Journey
I was captivated by this scene the minute I saw it. This was Thursday AM a few hours before we headed home. I had seen the Police vehicle come through from the balcony while I was taking sunrise pics, and I guess it left these tracks behind. Then people began to walk the beach too including the mother and son in the shot. Somehow, for me, the shot began to take on more than what it was, so I thought I'd share it with you today.
The Picasa Lucky filter did a nice job on the contrast and blues in the skies I think.
Many happy memories here. Johnny enjoyed those natural beach sand dunes for over an hour thudding on them and playing imaginary games. I will forever remember his joy:
I collected some some shell pieces for crafts and even found an intact shark tooth.
I've added a tree shot from Fort Fisher to my Inspirations gallery. It was my back-up choice for today, and with moving onto something Easterish tomorrow, I figured it would get lost in the shuffle if I didn't put it somewhere:
We're off to the NC Zoo today. It's not the best weather ever, but I think we can still have fun.
Thanks for all your comments on my sunrise yesterday. I did get a very 'solitary' feeling looking at that shot. I enjoyed what you had to say about my luck with the placement of the gull. I had taken many versions of that scene, and I did pick that one because of the gull.
I'm not sure what to say or if to say anything, but I guess it's time to say something. My husband is off to start his own new journey. He's moving out today after 17 years of marriage. The U-Haul showed up at my house yesterday. This is a shot I never thought I'd be taking:
The zoo trip is to take me and the kids away from the dismantling of the house... It's going to be OK. I had a lot of self pity a few weeks ago, but that wasn't going to get me anywhere. Time to move forward. Walls can be painted. New traditions can be started.
