11/27/10 - Libby
I figured I'd post something different today. This is my girlfriend, Faith's, cat. I had the pleasure of babysitting this past week (also Hannah and Otter). Libby doesn't like to be held or petted much, but for some reason, she really likes me. I can pick her up and she purrs. Now, I am more of a dog person than a cat person, but I like cats just fine and have had kitty pets before. Still, it's a bit odd that a cat would bond with me like that. Here, she's just hanging out under a pine tree beside the driveway nestled in the pine straw. Love her expressive eyes and how they turned out in this shot.
Our colder air is here, and it's going to feel quite cold tonight with what now seems like a for sure freeze.
Also, I took this picture of the boys with Santa at Crabtree Valley Mall yesterday. They let you take your own picture if you stand at this far away spot:-) I used sports mode to try to stop the blur, Lucky on Picasa to adjust the color and contrast, and Noiseware to get rid of the noise. Not bad. Really almost as nice as the one I paid $15 for. The background was me focusing on Joey up close, holding the focus lock, and then pointing at a decorated tree about 25' away. Gave me really nice bokeh, and yes, I took it just for the purpose of using it as a frame.
Headed to the Durham Museum of Life and Science today to see the Holiday Springs and Sprocket Steve Gerberich exhibit.
Thank you so much for the comments on our Thanksgiving feast from yesterday. Most years dinner is sometime shortly after 1PM. You know where the food is!
